On the Form I-485 Part 3. Processing Information

Question 2. Have you recived public assistance in the United State from any source, including, the US Goverment or any state, county, city, or municipality (other than emergency medical treatment), or are you likely to receive public assistance in the future?

Here is the situation I am USC and my wife have a baby 5 month old she can not work since she dose not have the work permit and my line of work as selfemployed very down with this bad econamy, so basicly we are trying to apply for medical insurance and Wic program for the infant baby. The question Dose anyone from VJ went through this hard time and this situation? What is the efect on the processing the I-485 form?

The US citizen can always be eligible for public aid. The foreign spouse is not.

With the income situation you describe, you will need a joint sponsor.
