I'm considered "high risk" since I'm having twins and my doctor told me that as long as I'm not drinking the coffee Amr brought home with him (the good arabic coffee) that I can safely have a pot of coffee a day! That about put me in shock! So with my 2 cups of yucky american coffee and my diet cokes, I'm a happy little camper. He did say though that if my blood pressure starts to rise or if I develop any other medical conditions while pregnant I could have my caffine taken away. |

Some doctors believe stopping the intake of things you normally consume suddenly is a shock on the system and can be equally as harmful, if you want to view it that way. My first pregnancy, a million years ago, I had gone out with friends after work before I knew was I pregnant and had a few mixed drinks. I tore myself apart with worry over it, but it's now turning 17 in 2 weeks and seems to be ok other then the usual teenaged insanities. Moderation, nutrition, and good sense go a long way.
