My fiancée belongs to another forum where individuals post their experiences after being interviewed. I think this may help here too.. Hopefully I am not over doing it, but I found myself as stress as she is..

They have been posting delays US Embassy is experiencing in returning the stamped passport to their holders. Apparently, TNT?? is taking a little longer than the normal in returning this document on time back to the embassy consequently, fiancées are having anxiety moments specially if airfare was purchased prior interview. We all know the consequences if you don't have a stamped passport the day of traveling.. Airfare changes and extra expenses..

If you have not had your interview and not purchased your air ticket, allow enough time specially since the holidays are approaching. If you already have your air bill, and your interview is coming up, find out the fastest way the embassy can authorize your Visa Stamp, even if it means extra cost [R$]

Yes, you can.
But it's useless cause it takes 6 or 7 days no matter what. In my case, they said my Passport would take 15 days as I live far from Rio and it took 6 days. I know a girl that got the fast delivery and her Passport took also 6 days. Lu just got her Passport.... 7 days (there was a holiday in this between).
I hope 7 days works for you guys! And, I suggest you to write them and ask about it, who knows ?

Yes, you can.

Totally agree with above response. A K1 petioner was approved at starting of the month, she had her air fair booked and got her passport the day before her flight. She was calling and calling the embassy since she booked her flight without considering any delays.

I wished I had the opportunity to be there and celebrate but as Beinha said, she is resting now and I have time to continue the celebration providing you with some feedback and interview questions asked.

As I mentioned, her interview was more a conversation than questions and answers. He started to talk and my fiancée continue and during the conversation, he asked questions and so on, so on.. Here is the synopsis of the interview: [I left a couple of answers because I thought it was funny (to prove a point Q 4) or critical (Q 14)]

1- Where did u meet your fiancé?
2- Where does your fiancé lives?
3- He lives in a house or apartment?
4- His apartment has a view, did he say something about it? And I told him that u made a video of apartment and send it because I wanted to "know" it and change something.. He smile and ask: change something?? And I said, yes, like curtains, etc.. and he laughs and said: ohh women! LOL
5- What does your fiancé do for living?
6- You have a law degree, right?
7- Does your fiancé have family in states?
8- how old was your fiancé when he went to states?
9- Was your fiancé married before?
10- Does he have kids?
11- Were you married before?
12- Did you have any other boyfriends from other countries?
13- Do you have family in states?
14- You tried a tourist visa in May of this year, but you didn’t say that you have a boyfriend in states, why? I WAS SURE ABOUT THIS ONE! I told him, I wanted to go to states to know you more, meet your family, which is very important for me..and he said; ohh that is for sure! So, lot of people told you many things right?? And I said yes.. [so, at this time I was really afraid to be denied]... and he was checking his pc and said: better always say the truth! LOL and I laugh and said: that is true! And he laugh too LOL
15- Are you guys planning to get marry in the states?
16- Do you have with you more pics of the once we have here in your process??

Got across this topic in one of the forum and this guy posted this from a guide book, an attoney who works on K1/K3 and had some relationship with a foreign embassy/consul. Not everything may apply to you as I see a lot of questions referred to husband/spouse, but could be help you someway.

Here are some tips for the interview:

1. Do not volunteer information. For most questions, the shorter and more direct the answers are, the shorter the interview and the higher the chance of success. If the question is a yes or no question, give yes or no answers only. If the question is a simple question like "What is your name?" answer simply with your name.

2. If you do not know the answer to a question, do not lie. Say, "I don't know the answer to that at this time." or "I don't remember."

3. The answer to many questions will be in the papers that were sent in the petitions. Questions like, "what are your husband's parent's names". They will expect you to know the information given in your petitions. Review everything in your paperwork with your wife/fiance(e) before his/her interview, and do a mock interview to see how the information may be applied.

4. Avoid saying "I think . . .". Women do this a lot. The examiner will expect you to know not be unsure, of your answers. Also, avoid adding "umm", "you know" and "ahh" type fillers to your speech.

5. When applicable, don't just state, demonstrate. If the examiner asks a question that can be answered with a document or photograph(s), provide it along with your answer.

For example, if the examiner asks, "What does your family think of your husband?", give them a picture or two with your answer; "They like him very much. Here is a picture of him with my mother and father at my parent's home."

Or, "How many attended your wedding?" Answer, "(give a number, then say) We have some lovely wedding photos of our guests having fun. Here are a few that I can show you."

6. Give American answers for dates and times. 12/24/08, not 24/12/08.

7. Dress well, but not overdressed.

8. Try to appear calm, well organized, and friendly. Nervousness raises suspicions.

9. Remain focused. If the examiner makes jokes, smile and enjoy, but do not make jokes too.

10. Make proper eye contact when conversing with the examiner, and try to control your own facial expressions so that your face remains pleasant and cordial.

11. Be audible so that your examiner doesn't have to ask you to repeat your answers.

12. Organize your papers in a way that will allow you to retrieve them easily and quickly. Examiners appreciate order and someone who doesn't waste their time.

13. When the interview is over, always ask for the results. "What should I now tell my husband//fiance about my visa status after our interview?" Before you leave, have them explain any papers they give to you and/or any procedures they will be taking to complete your case. Try to get the examiner's name for future reference, if needed. Write it down.

14. If the interview is in another city than the one you live in, arrive a day or two early to complete biometrics and get the results of your medical exam.

15. Arrive early to the consulate, but also be prepared to wait for a time past your scheduled interview appointment time. Be careful of thieves around the consulate if you have to carry cash. Bring ID; you cannot enter without it.

16. It is rare for the consulate to give you a visa on the spot. Be prepared to return for it, if approved.

For the interview, your SO should bring:

1. Original marriage documents, translations and certifications.

2. Formal, long form birth certificate.

3. Copies of any divorce records or death decrees of former SO(s).

4. Passport, with an expiration date of no earlier than 6 months. Try to have more than 6 months before expiration.

5. Police certificate with "Nothing" written on it, indicating no criminal record

6. Fingerprints (consulate will instruct you regarding how, when and where these will be taken).

7. Medical exam results (consulate will instruct you regarding how, when and where this will be taken). There is a fee for this. Make sure you get a copy from the medical examiner.

8. Passport type photos of each of you. (consulate will instruct you regarding these)

I made a list of what I've seen other people say their SOs were asked at consulates. Make sure that your fiancé can spell your COMPLETE name.

I'll lost trying to recap all you guys told me about this part now! I was told I can just e-mail the Embassy for an interview date instead of wait for them to send me by letter. How long should I wait, anyone know? It was sent from NVC yesterday.

I called the nearest Dr. to my town, (3h distant in a bus), she asks me to bring the "nicolau pope" exam (I don't know what you call that in US, is that so very nice test we all "love" and do every year against cancer), breast exam, all done already by my ginecologist, and vacine records. Blood test and x-ray done there, and I need to bring the vacine card, passport, case number, 3x4 picture. The secretary said that the results can be sent to me by express mail, since I am from another town, too, and they should take from 7 to 10 days. Total will be R$370,00 reais, since the exams in my town I can use my medical plan. I didn't think it bad, so I'll probably go with that... the closer one after that will be a way longer and expensive trip. Anyway, I just want to make sure if that is what you were asked for too!

Now I just need the police records and actually do the exams and the appointment... it's like seeing a light in the end of this long wait tunnel!

Sorry for the little ranting, I just got silly happy to see some progress
