Whilst most seem to get a response within a couple of days of their email, there are some that have waited a week or more. You can scan/email or fax the DS-3032 that you received to your spouse, have them complete, sign it and then scan/email or fax it back to you so you can send it off to them straight away. This is what we did. Meanwhile you may just receive the confirmation email from NVC of your email. It wont matter if they get it twice as this doesnt appear to be a big deal with the 'Choice of Agent' hence why they have also been accepting this process via email.

I suggest that you wait for few more days. They will email back to you. Many people here got their responses within 2-3 days, but NVC responded my choice of agent after 10 days. You can email a copy of DS 3032 to your spouse, in case. But I am sure that NVC will email you with the acceptance of the choice of agent within next 2-4 days. In the meantime, keep checking with NVC by calling and talking with a live operator. The number is: 603-334-0700, options 1 and 5.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

who acctually fills out the Agent of Choice form?? is it the petitioner ( ie usa citizen) or the immigrant to be?

little confuzzled! as per usual..

The choice of agent form must be filled out, signed, and dated by the foreign alien spouse, the intending immigrant. As soon as the DS 3032 form (The choice of agent form) generated, NVC mails out this form to the foreign alien spouse and at the same time, NVC also mails out this form to the US citizen petitioner. USC petitioner can email/fax this form to the beneficiary so that the beneficiary can have it right away. However, the beneficiary can also email the NVC to select the choice of agent, as soon as NVC generates the choice of agent form, DS 3032. NVC replies the email in about 2-10 days. It is better to appoint the US Citizen Spouse as the choice of agent, because NVC will send all correspondence to the designated choice of agent. If someone has an attorney, they can choose the attorney as the choice of agent. NVC also recommends to choose someone in US as choice of agent because of mailing conveniences.

Ok so I am having a totaly Blonde day today.. let me get this right.. a choice of agent form is sent to both petitioner and beneficiary.. then the petitioner sends their copy to the intending immigrant and they are both sent to the NVC..?? is that right?

Yes, the form is sent to both petitioner and beneficiary by NVC. But, only one copy which must be filled out, signed, and dated by the BENEFICIARY must be sent back to NVC. The reason NVC sends out one copy to the petitioner is, if the beneficiary somehow does not receive this form, then the petitioner can send this form to the beneficiary by fax/email. Again, beneficiary needs to send ONLY one copy of this form to the NVC. The beneficiary has to appoint someone (preferrably the USC petitioner or attorney), sign and date it.

So then my husband (who posted this original question) could sign/date the Choice of Agent form he received in the mail in the UK and send it to me (the USC) to send back to NVC on his behalf. Right?

Thanks as always!

The DS 3032 that the beneficiary received in UK is original itself. But you don't need to worry about the form anymore, after NVC email you back confirming the choice of agent.
