It can be very quick. K-1 visa applicants need to complete medical before document screening. After document screening, the interview can be scheduled as soon as the next day or one week later. On the month of May 2008, Fiance(e) visa interview is held on Tuesday and Thursday only. |

Packet 4, or the interview date is given when you bring in documents for document screening. Medical should be scheduled and done before the document screening. The embassy suggest to wait a week after the medical before going to the embassy for document screening, but you should be able to do it sooner. |

NOTE: Medical Examination Forms are only available at U.S. Embassy Jakarta.
We suggest you do to the medical examinations minimum of one week prior to the document submission. All visa applicants regardless of age need a medical examination. Children under age of 15 will not need a chest x-ray or serological test unless required by the examining physician. Result of the examination including x-ray will be delivered in one week by the examining physician to the Embassy.
Medical examinations are taken at your own expense. They remain valid for purpose of visa issuance for six months.
X-RAYS
1. For Pregnant Women. If you suspect that you are pregnant, please advise the examining physician in order that special precaution can be taken if a chest x-ray is require.
2. Previous X-rays. While previous x-rays are not normally required medical clearances, applicants who have them in their possession are advised to bring them to the clinic. This will save considerable inconvenience for applicants who need their previous x-ray results, as a decided by the examining physician for comparison purposes.
VACCINATIONS
If you have written record of vaccine history you may present your record to the examining physician to be determined whether you have received a complete series of each required vaccine.
** HIV test is no longer required by Jakarta Embassy and should not be given as part of the visa medical exam. |

DOCUMENT PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR FIANCE(E) VISA INTERVIEWS
Please note that when applicants arrive at the Embassy for their scheduled interviews, the documents applicable to their cases must be pre-arranged in the following order:
1. Passport
2. Birth Certificate(s)
3. Name Change Certificate (if applicable)
4. Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
5. Death or Divorce Decree (if applicable) from Petitioner & Applicant
Each applicant aged 16 or older must have police clearance from any country where the applicant resided for one year or more.
If you have lived in more than one cities in Indonesia for six months or longer you should get the police certificate from the police region of each city (POLDA) or from the police headquarters in Jakarta (MABES POLRI, Jl. Trunojoyo, Kebayoran Baru) which covers all the districts in Indonesia. ** SEE BELOW
7. Notarized Affidavit of Support (Form I-134 fiance(e) visa applicants) from the petitioner or other qualified sponsor along with supporting evidence:
One (1) year of US income tax returns 1040 & W-2 (copies or faxes are acceptable)
Bank statements and proof of assets
8.Photographs two (2) color photos of each applicant in the correct format
9. Fee: Rupiah equivalent of US$ 240.00 for each fiancé(e) visa applicant. Payable in Rupiah only.
For each document, the applicant must bring:
Originals or original certified copies by the issuing office
Photocopies of the original documents
All documents should be accompanied by English translations
Please note that if translations are required, the photocopies and translations for items 2 through 6 must be in order together with the originals (i.e. do not arrange copies and translations separately)
IMPORTANT NOTE:
PLEASE BRING ALL THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS TO BE SCREENED TO THE IMMIGRANT VISA UNIT AT WINDOW #4. AT THAT TIME ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE COMPLETE OR INTERVIEW DATE WILL NOT BE SCHEDULED.

Effective for all NIV appointments on and after 1 May 2010, use of the Online Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application (DS-160) is mandatory. Please replace any reference to DS-156/7/8 with DS-160. Once completed, the information in the DS-160 will be electronically transmitted to us. The applicant must print the DS-160 Confirmation that includes some biographical information and a bar code confirmation number. Applicants must bring the printed DS-160 Confirmation to their NIV appointment, along with all other required supporting documentation including current passport. While you are working on your DS-160, often “save” a copy on your hard drive. Fill out all required information completely and correctly, including selecting the appropriate visa type. Once your DS-160 is complete, make your appointment by clicking here. When you arrive at the Embassy the day of your scheduled appointment, your online DS-160 will be checked by our staff when you check-in for your appointment. If your DS-160 is incomplete, your appointment will be cancelled. There is no way to add data to an incomplete DS-160 here. **although their website says otherwise, the Jakarta Embassy no longer requires police certificates from local POLDA or POLRI for interviews. Best to ask them this question via email and have the answer in writing when you go, at least until they amend the website. |
